Chartered Institute of Building speaks out on inert waste regulations consultation

The informal Defra consultation on the recovery and disposal of inert construction waste including materials like brick, concrete, hardcore and subsoil closed on the 21st March 2008. The aim of the consultation according to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs was to find ways of adopting a more "proportionate and risk-based approach" to dealing with the inert wastes.

Landfill Tax set for a 30% rise
