At Skippy Nationwide, we offer a variety of containers in order to cope with the numerous types of waste created for a large number of commercial projects. Some are better suited to certain jobs. One such type of container we can offer is roll on roll off skips (RORO).

Roll On Roll Off Skips: What Are They Used For?

The main difference between a RORO skip and other types is something you’ll notice straight away: the size! Roll on roll off skips are considerably larger than the other containers we have available for hire at Skippy Nationwide. As such, they are used for bigger projects; usually, very large construction work, demolitions or refurbishments.

The waste materials from these can certainly build up. However, a RORO skip will be more than able to handle what you can throw in them. They’re perfectly suited for any type of non-hazardous waste. We offer specialised solutions for hazardous materials, but for all other waste streams our bigger skips are ideal.

At Skippy Nationwide, our roll on roll off containers are available in two distinct types, as outlined below:

  • Low Sided 20 Yard – Low sided models are generally more suited towards general and inert waste. Due to their size, they are ideal for handling soil, hardcore and most rubbish created during construction work. However if you have large amounts of heavy mixed waste please contact us to discuss as we may have a more cost effective solution for you.
  • High Sided 35-40 Yard – These are thelargest variety of skip we offer for hire. This variety of skip is much more suited to larger construction projects where large amounts of light bulky waste will be generated.

Why Choose Roll On Roll Off Skips Over Regular Skip Hire?

The simple fact of the matter is that the bigger the project or workload the bigger the amount of rubbish.

As we’ve discussed earlier, roll on roll off skips are massive. They’re perfectly suited for times when even the largest regular skip can’t cope. When a skip is collected, it is loaded onto the back of a purpose designed truck and overturned to be emptied. This places limitations on the skip’s load capacity and its overall size.

With a RORO container, this makes them the perfect choice for large-scale projects. This could be anything from clearance jobs through to shop fittings, big construction projects or any job that will create a large amount of waste.

Versatile And Reliable RORO Skip Hire

We offer two size capacities for our roll on skips: 20yrd, 35yrd /40yrd. As these are so large, they unfortunately cannot be placed on-road like many other skips can with the proper permits. They must only be situated off road.

We’re more than happy to give you the best advice on where to place your container at Skippy Nationwide. Give our team a call today to discuss your project’s requirements and we’ll make sure the correct container is delivered at a time and place to suit you.
